Hey all. Been a while.
I've moved, so I couldn't really work on anything for quite some time. However, I have my workspace set up, and I've decided to get back to what I set out to do in life; animation. I'm starting with doing rough animations to get my fundamentals warmed up. These skills will strengthen all my other artwork, so onward.

Not bad at all for someone whose been away for so long! After watching this loop several times I can only really see small improvements that you can make here and there. Mainly with your anticipation and followthrough. Your squash and stretch are all very nice. However your demonstration of weight could be a bit more weighty. The bounce the character has when landing from that flip could use a little more emphasis. That emphasis could easily lead into anticipation for the characters "flash step"/instant transmission to his finishing "Link" pose. All in all I supposed that's about all I can say right now. You still have your understanding of timing, squash and stretch. Just put a little more work in your weight, anticipation and followthrough for your next one and we should see just that much more improvement. Nice work, show me MOAR and I will let you know what I see and what you could change/add/remove and tweak.

Nice work man! I didn't know you were working on animation! But of course you would be, you mentioned a game right?

Very good motion and fluidity! My animations are rather sketchy in comparison

Thank you, thank you! :icondancinglaplz:
Oh yes! I was actually in school for animation, once upon a time.
Yes, I did mention a game! :D

Thanks again!
Oh, I wouldn't call your animations "sketchy", but are more like keyframes. Your line work is stunning.
If you're interested, I could tutor to you on the principles of animation. It'd give me another good reason to do more, myself! :plotting:
I absolutely enjoy what you've done! :la:

If you could that would be awesome! Any tips you can give would be hugely appreciated, as I only got animation tutoring for a morphing test that was touched on briefly in highschool. Annnnd... yeah, that's it. I had to take it from there. lol. The animation course got cut from my school the year that I reached the grade to take it. OTL;;

Ah, thanks very much! Glad I'm doing a satisfactory job

VERY satisfactory! :icondancinglaplz:
Everyone has to start somewhere, and a morph is definitely an interesting one, at that!
That's awesome that your high school had a animation program, even if only before you could take it...
Mine had a good art program, but no animation, at least that I know of before I got there. :grump:

I'll send you a note, and we can talk about animation stuff! :la:

Oh wow! This is very strong my dear. :excited: It's brilliant.
You inspire me.

I do? Thank you, Claudia! :glomp:
I'm happy to do so, especially for you! :squee:

Yes, indeed. I wish I had more time for animation. It takes so much out of me. :excited: But it's fun. I never have enough time for all of the things I want to do. I have a million things! :dummy:

Aww! Keep 'em coming darling.
AaronRhyneHendren Featured By Owner Jul 12, 2012
The feeling is familiar to me, as well. (a dummy you could never be)
Getting lost in animation is the best, though.
I need to continue the next one I started. It's a bit more detailed and more oriented around character acting.
Doing more roughs will help everything else get done faster. It's almost like doing gesture sketches constantly! :D

You should give it more time when you can.
I'm still very eager to see what you have done already, but my patience will remain, of course. :eager:

I will definitely have more to see. No worries there, love. :thanks:

 Indeed, the best.
I can't wait to see it! Awesome!

Ah yes, I will try. :) Thanks for the encouragement.

You are always welcome, of course, and always so encouraging, too, so I appreciate everything, Claudia. Thank you. :huggle:

I hope to have more done soon. There's been a lot of "housework" distractions lately, so I want to get back into my arts soon. :plotting:

Of course hun! I completely understand. Thanks for sending me the latest email. I'll write soon.
AaronRhyneHendren Featured By Owner Jul 24, 2012
I know you will, love.
I actually sat down and started working a bit on the first pin-up I started, so I shouldn't have too much left to do for that one. :boogie:

Thanks for the offer! I actually purposely animated this on twos, as this wasn't supposed to be very "finished".
My main focus for this was my key frames, so I'm glad you liked them.

good motion keys, need help with the tweens?
